Developing and connecting the directions of the main and circular roads to offer responsible transportation and logistics services in the city is the first phase of the initiative, according to the announcement by the commission's Board of Directors.

The authority stated that the road program will make Riyadh, the Saudi capital, one of the world's most important cities, in keeping with the goals of Vision 2030, and will set the city up to become a hub for sustainable logistics and transportation in the Middle East. Over the next few months, the commission will announce the contracts that will be awarded for the next phase of the program.

Here are some roads that are part of the first phase of projects for this program :

1. The second southern ring road is being built. It will stretch 56 kilometers, from the new Al-Kharj Road in the east to the Jeddah Road in the west. The road will have 4 lanes in each direction for the main road and 3 lanes for the service road. Along with the construction of 32 bridges, the road includes the working of 10 important crossroads. 3. The first phase of the project is to construct the six-kilometer stretch of Al-Thumama Road Axis that runs west to east, from King Khalid Road to King Fahd Road.

4. The 16-kilometer-long Taif Road extension project in the Laban area to the Qiddiya project is set to be implemented. The project begins at the western end of the Taif Road in the Laban society and extends east to the Qiddiya project.

In collaboration with the appropriate local authorities, the RCRC has created a strategy to oversee traffic diversions on the roads that will be affected by these projects, ensuring that the traffic flow remains at its peak.
