Saudi Arabia considers Expat fee and Customs Duty exemption for Non-Profit sector
Saudi Arabia is considering a number of benefits, such as waiving labor fees, expat levy fees, zakat, and customs duties for non-profit organizations in the kingdom. In a virtual gathering of non-profit sector leaders on Thursday, he informed them that a ministerial committee is looking into 21 incentives to boost the nonprofit sector. Among these incentives is the possibility of removing labor fees, financial fees, zakat, and customs duties from the nonprofit sector.
- The ministerial committee, which includes the ministers of finance, economy and planning, commerce, and human resources and social development, is currently studying this matter, according to Al-Rajhi, who is also chairman of the National Center for the Development of the Nonprofit Sector's Board of Directors. The committee plans to submit its recommendations by the end of October 2024, after finishing its study.
- There are now 5,000 organizations working in the nonprofit sector, according to the minister, representing 4,000 societies, 400 private firms, and 530 family funds. - Meetings with private organizations and charitable societies identified all of the non-profit sector's challenges, according to the minister. Half of these issues have been resolved, and the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector plans to find extreme solutions to the remaining issues within a year.

During the discussion, participants discussed potential obstacles and offered solutions that may help the industry grow and reach its potential while also advancing the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
