MOI : Over 22,000 violators arrested in Saudi Arabia within a Week
Within a week, 22,021 individuals were detained by combined field campaigns for violating restrictions regarding residency, employment, and border security, according to the Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia. Most Viewed : Procedure to get Vehicle Repair Permit through Absher
The following results were obtained, from the campaigns that were conducted throughout the Kingdom from 29th August 2024 to 9th September 2024, in order to monitor and arrest those who violated regulations regarding residency, employment, and border security, as per the Ministry.
1. The combined security field operations throughout the Kingdom uncovered a total of 22,021 violations, with 14,508 being from the residence law, 4,511 from the border security law, and 3,002 from the labor law.
2. While the overall number of individuals arrested while attempting to enter the Kingdom was 1,988. Of these, 39% were Yemeni, 60% were Ethiopian, and 1% belonged to other nationalities. The unofficial exit from the Kingdom was also the cause of the arrest of 41 individuals.
3. Eleven people were taken into custody for their roles in protecting and harboring individuals who had violated regulations regarding residency, labor, and border security, as well as for hiring and utilizing them. Boost Saudi Expatriates Telegram channel
4. Out of the 15,108 expatriates who have violated the regulations so far, 13,996 were identified as male and 1,112 are female.
5. Of those who violated the rules, 5917 were sent to their diplomatic missions to get the necessary travel documents, 2249 were told to finalize their travel plans, and 1,1242 were sent back home.
- A person faces up to fifteen years in prison, a fine of up to one million riyals, defamation, confiscation of the means of transportation and the residence used for shelter, and possible confiscation of any assistance or service provided to those who violate border security, according to the Ministry of Interior.
