Saudi Arabia arrests 15,324 residents within a week on various violations


The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia announced on Saturday that it had arrested 15,324 illegal residents during inspection operations conducted across Saudi Arabia last week. A total of 11,894 violators have been deported. Trending : New service launched to evaluate damage vehicle



The arrests occurred as a result of working together field security operations conducted by security forces and relevant government agencies from September 19 to September 25, 2024.

A total of 9,235 individuals were arrested for violations of the Residency Law, 3,772 for breaches of the Border Security Law, and 2,317 for infractions of the Labor Law.

A total of 6,520 violators were directed to their diplomatic missions to secure travel documents, while 1,385 violators were referred to finalize their travel reservations.

The total number of individuals arrested while attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom was 1,226. Among them, 48% were Yemeni nationals, 51% were Ethiopian nationals, and one percent represented other nationalities. Most Viewed : Saudi Arabia penalizes 24 Pharma companies on violations

Additionally, 116 individuals were detained while trying to leave the Kingdom illegally. Four individuals involved in the transportation, sheltering, and employment of violators have also been caught.

The Ministry of Interior has issued a warning that individuals who assist in the illegal entry of persons into the Kingdom, transport them within its borders, or provide shelter or any form of assistance may face penalties of up to 15 years in prison and fines reaching SR1 million. Additionally, vehicles utilized for transportation or properties used for shelter will be subject to confiscation.

The ministry has encouraged the public to report any cases of violations by contacting 911 in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and by using the numbers 999 and 996 in other areas of the Kingdom. Follow Saudi Expatriates on Linkedin
