Saudi Arabia arrests more than 22,000 violators within One week
The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia has reported that joint field campaigns have arrested 22,716 individuals for violating residency, work, and border security regulations over the span of a week. Trending : Saudi Arabia ranks second in G20 countries in UN Telecom Index
The Ministry clarified that the following outcomes were achieved during the monitoring and arrest campaigns for those who violated residency, work, and border security restrictions that were conducted throughout the Kingdom from September 12 to September 18, 2024.
1. A total of 22,716 violators were arrested during the joint security field campaigns across all regions of the Kingdom. This includes 14,446 violators of the residency law, 4,780 violators of the border security law, and 3,490 violators of the labor law.
2. A total of 1,513 individuals were arrested while attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Among them, 46% were Yemeni, 53% were Ethiopian, and 1% belonged to other nationalities. Furthermore, 38 individuals were detained for attempting to cross the border out of the Kingdom in an irregular way.

4. The total number of individuals currently going through the implementation procedures of the regulations stands at 15,752 expatriates in violation, which includes 14,167 men and 1,585 women.
5. A total of 6,765 violators were directed to their diplomatic missions to secure travel documents, while 2,232 violators were referred to finalize their travel reservations, and 12,101 violators faced deportation.
The Ministry of Interior has confirmed that individuals who assist in the entry of border security violators into the Kingdom, transport them within its borders, provide shelter, or offer any form of assistance or service, may face severe penalties. These can include imprisonment for up to 15 years, fines reaching one million riyals, seizures of transportation means and residences used for shelter, as well as possible defamation.
The Interior Ministry clarified that this offense is categorized as a serious crime requiring arrest, and it constitutes a breach of honor and trust. The authority encouraged individuals to report any violations by calling 911 in the areas of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 and 996 in other regions of the Kingdom.
