The arrests happened between August 22 and August 28, during combined field security campaigns conducted by security personnel and relevant government agencies.

Among the individuals detained were 13,248 for violations of the Residency Law, 4,688 for violations of the Border Security Law, and 2,782 for violations of the Labor Law.

Of the 744 individuals apprehended while attempting to enter the Kingdom illegally, 37% were Yemeni, 62% were Ethiopian, and 1% belonged to other nationalities, while 69 were arrested while attempting to exit the Kingdom illegally.

Sixteen others were also taken into custody for their roles in assisting, transporting, or employing lawbreakers. As part of their punishment, 14,634 expats, 13,532 of whom are men and 1,102 of whom are women, are presently going through different stages of judicial procedures. While 12,410 of the violators were deported, 5,361 were sent to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents, 1982 was directed to finish making their bookings to go back to their home countries.

A person can face up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to SR1 million, and the confiscation of their vehicles or houses used for providing shelter if they aid the illegal entry of individuals into the Kingdom, transport them on its territory, or provide any other service or assistance, according to a warning from the Ministry of the Interior.
