KSA arrests 22,993 illegal expats in a Week
The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia announced on Saturday that it had arrested 22,993 illegal residents from various regions of Saudi Arabia during the past week. Trending : New rules of Temporary work visa
The arrests took place as a result of collaborative field security operations conducted by security forces and relevant government agencies from October 3 to October 9.
A total of 14,269 individuals were arrested for violating the Residency Law, 5,230 for infringing upon the Border Security Law, and 3,494 for breaching the Labor Law.
The total number of individuals arrested while attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom was 1,378. Among these, 41 percent were Yemeni nationals, 58 percent were Ethiopian nationals, and one percent represented other nationalities.
Additionally, 80 individuals were apprehended while trying to leave the Kingdom illegally.
Nineteen individuals involved in the transportation, sheltering, and employment of violators were also apprehended. Read : 2 Individuals arrested for practicing Medical profession without license
A total of 15,136 expatriates, which includes 13,520 men and 1,616 women, are presently engaged in various stages of legal proceedings as part of punitive actions taken against them.
A total of 7,211 violators were directed to their diplomatic missions to secure travel documents, while 2,381 violators were instructed to finalize their travel reservations. Additionally, 11,907 violators were deported.
The Ministry of Interior has issued a warning that individuals who assist in the illegal entry of persons into the Kingdom, transport them within its borders, provide shelter, or offer any form of assistance or service may face penalties of up to 15 years in prison and fines reaching SR1 million.
Additionally, vehicles utilized for transportation or properties used for shelter will be subject to seizures.
The ministry asked the public to report any violations by phoning 999 and 996 in the remaining regions of the Kingdom and 911 in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province. Join Saudi Expatriates channel on Facebook
