Saudi Arabia extends 50% traffic fee reduction grace period for another 6 months
On Thursday, the Ministry of the Interior stated that the six-month grace period for paying off unpaid traffic penalties at a 50% discount would be extended by another 6 months. According to the Saudi Press Agency, this is in accordance with the orders of King Salman, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. The new grace period will conclude on April 18, 2025, as per the instruction of the highest authorities. Following the previously mentioned six-month grace period's expiry on Friday, October 18, 2024, the royal decree was issued.
As per the announcement made on April 18, 2024, of a 50% discount on traffic penalties, violators have the option to pay the entire amount at once or individually for each violation. To take advantage of the reduction, which was previously mandated by the royal family, you must pay up any outstanding traffic penalties within six months, from April 18, 2024, to October 18, 2024. This grace period applies to violations that occurred before to that date.

The General Directorate of Traffic (Moroor) has issued a warning about dealing with uncertain connections, phone calls, and websites that claim to offer the service. The automatic payment of traffic fines service available using the SADAD payment system and the Efaa platform.
Violators would not be eligible for the discount if they committed any of four specified offenses during the reduction period, as stated in the royal decree that was enforced by the Ministry of the Interior. These infractions include things like drifting, being under the influence of narcotics or prohibited substances while driving, and going more than 50 km/h over the limit on highways with a 120 km/h limit or more than 30 km/h over the limit on roads with a 140 km/h restriction.
