Saudi Arabia strikes contract with Italian aerospace company to localize helicopter manufacturing
Bandar Al Khorayef, Saudi Arabia's minister of industry and mineral resources, recently met with Stefano Pontecorvo, chairman of the board of directors of Leonardo, an Italian multinational that focuses on aerospace, defense, and security. They met mainly to discuss the possibility of Saudi Arabia being a manufacturing hub for various helicopter parts, like as structural parts, propellers, fins, and EFS.
Leonardo has been a leading provider of platforms, systems, and services to the Saudi Arabian market for more than half a century.
The goal of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 is to create a strong and diverse economy that is not dependent on oil, and this partnership is in line with that vision.
