The latest announcement about visa-on-arrival is an extension of previous efforts aimed at facilitating travel for citizens of India. For passengers holding Indian passports, Emirates Airline and VFS Global launched a pre-approved visa-on-arrival service in early February 2023. Indian passport holders who have made a reservation with us can now take advantage of a pre-approved visa on arrival service, thanks to our partnership with VFS Global. They announced the change on X platform, saying that it will allow customers to bypass lines upon arrival in Dubai.

A five-year multiple-entry visa was also made available to Indian nationals by Dubai in the same month. The goal of implementing this policy was to strengthen economic, touristic, and commercial links between the United Arab Emirates and India.

India continues to be an important market for Dubai's tourism industry. The number of Indian tourists visiting Dubai increased by 25% from pre-pandemic levels in 2023, with 2.46 million overnight stays reported. According to a report released in February 2023 by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, this spike further cemented India's status as the leading tourist market in Dubai.
