The fine for a first violation is 500 Riyals, according to Daghim Al Numsi, director of the Vegetation Development Centre's Licensing and Permits Department. The fine rises to SR 2,000 for a third violation.
In violation of the camping site's licensing regulations, an arrest report will be filed, according to the official, who spoke to Saudi TV Al Ekhbariya. He went on to say that whomever causes harm to the environment due to unlicensed camping must pay for it.
