The new rules prohibit reusing shaving razors and require stricter sanitary standards in barbershops with the primary goal of improving public health safety.

To guarantee that all tools are cleaned after each usage, salons are now required to supply sterilization devices.

Additionally, Cosmetics and other items cannot be sold unless they have been approved by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority.

The Ministry justified the modifications by saying they are part of a larger initiative to make metropolitan areas more structured and attractive to investors while simultaneously enhancing men's grooming services around the Kingdom. The initiatives taken by the Ministry demonstrate their dedication to enhancing service quality and encouraging investment growth in this area, according to a spokesperson.

Additional health regulations include rules about employee behavior, such as not letting barbers touch their mouths or noses while they work and not letting them work if they are sick.

For reasons of cleanliness, women are only allowed entry to the salon under certain conditions, and they are not allowed to eat or drink on the premises. Follow Saudi Expatriates on Linkedin
