To improve the travel experience and make tax compliance easier, the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority will be in charge of the system's implementation. By launching this program, Saudi Arabia is demonstrating its commitment to making the Kingdom more welcoming to travelers.

Saudi Arabia has set a target of 127 million tourists for the year 2025, in line with its National Tourism Strategy. With this plan, the Kingdom will be even more prominently featured as a top tourist destination on a worldwide scale, drawing in visitors from all over the world.

The domestic economy, non-oil income, and private sector demand are all expected to receive a major boost from the estimated SR346.6 billion in tourism spending in the year 2025.

A year ahead of plan, in the year 2023, Saudi Arabia welcomed nearly 104 million tourists, building on recent momentum and surpassing its Vision 2030 target. The fact that 27 million of these tourists were from outside the country and 77 million were from inside shows how popular the Kingdom is becoming. Saudi Arabia plans to achieve 119.6 million tourists by the end of 2024, which is a significant step forward in its tourism goals.

By August of 2024, the tourist industry had also attracted SR8 billion in investment. This number is expected to exceed SR15 billion by the end of the year, demonstrating the sector's contribution to promoting economic diversification.

Midway through 2024, tourist spending hit SR156.6 billion, boosting the private sector and the country's economy. Total tourism spending in the Kingdom is targeted to reach SR304 billion by the end of the year 2024. Join Saudi Expatriates channel on Instagram
