60 days Grace period for Huroob (Absent From Work) expats to correct their status
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) in Saudi Arabia has begun a new initiative to provide huroob (Absent From Work) expat workers with 60 days to rectify their status through the Qiwa platform. Trending : Saudi Arabia to get $100 million French fries plant
"Those workers who are the subject of an absence report (Absent From Work) can transfer their services to another employer or final exit during the grace period through the ministry's Qiwa platform, which begins on December 1 and ends on January 29, 2025".
Workers who fulfill the requirements are being asked to swiftly move their services to another employer using the Qiwa platform's service before the set deadline on January 29th, according to the platform. Those who failed to transfer or exit during this grace period, their status turns into "Absent from work".
The report said that the campaign's goals are to make the labor relationship more stable, provide workers more opportunities to correct their status in line with the regulations, and make it easier for them to switch jobs. The report highlighted to take advantage of this opportunity before the deadline expires.
A stable and appealing workplace is one of the primary goals of the Qiwa platform, which also seeks to digitally deliver all services related to the work system and protect the interests of contractual parties like employers and employees. Most Viewed: Riyadh Metro ticket prices
Eligible recipients can now move their services to another company through the Qiwa platform, thanks to system updates implemented by the ministry. All workers who are part of the campaign will receive text messages informing them of this option to change their 'Absent from work' status.
In a newly published guide on services provided to expatriates, the ministry disclosed that the Qiwa platform, which offers electronic services to businesses and their employees, has made it possible for workers to get a salary certificate that details their current position (if they are working) and their past experience (if they so want).
Through his Qiwa Individuals account, the worker can request a certificate of experience. The ministry offers this service without restrictions and at no cost. See Also: 13 Million expats from 60 countries living in Saudi Arabia
