Riyadh Metro : Penalties goes up to 10 Million Riyals of Misuse and Damage
Riyadh Metro, a remarkable undertaking managed by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, is already accepting passengers on its electric trains. Trending: Nearly 50% of Riyadh's population are foreigners
Although most stations have seen a smooth transition, authorities have implemented strict penalties for passengers who violate the rules.
In order to maintain order, safety, and efficient operations, the Transport Authority has classified the following violations and fines related to the railway system regulations:
Misuse of facilities and disruptive behavior :
* For Serious violations: Fines can be as high as SR 50,000 and as low as SR 20,000.
* For Moderate violations: Fines can be from SR 5,000 to SR 10,000, and SR 15,000 for repeated violations.
* For Minor violations: The fine might be anywhere from SR 500 to SR 1,000, increasing to 5,000 riyals for repeated violations. Recommend : Saudi Arabia prohibited Celebrity ads on visit visas without permit
Using rail tracks without permission:
* For serious cases: Penalties for first-time offenders start at SR 100,000 and go up to SR 200,000.
* Fines for moderate cases start at SR 20,000 and go up to SR 50,000, with a maximum of SR 100,000 for repeated offenses.
* In minor cases, the fine can be anywhere from SR 10,000 to SR 15,000; for multiple offenses, it can go up to SR 50,000 in repeated cases.
Damage to public property and trespassing:
* Accidents caused: Penalties for first-time offenders start at 150,000 SR and go up to 200,000 SR for repeated offenses.
* Violations that cause disruptions or service halts: Penalties for first-time violations start at SR 80,000 and go up to SR 100,000.
* Fines for non-disruptive actions start at SR 10,000 and go up to SR 75,000; for repeating offenses, the fine can reach SR 100,000. See Also: 60 days Grace period for expats with Absent from work status
Interference or obstruction:
* Severe situations: From SR 50,000 to SR 100,000, and up to SR 150,000 for repeating offenses.
* Penalties for moderate cases can reach SR 20,000, with a maximum of SR 50,000 for repeated offenses.
* For minor cases, the fine is 1,000 to 5,000 Saudi Riyals (SR) for first-time violations, but for repeating, it rises to 20,000 SR.
Blockages and unauthorized modifications:
* Extreme situations: Penalty for first-time offenders is SR 100,000 and for repeated offenses, SR 150,000 to SR 200,000.
* Fines for moderate cases start at SR 20,000 and go up to SR 50,000, with a maximum of SR 100,000 for additional offenses.
* Fines range from SR 5,000 to SR 10,000 for minor infractions and reach SR 50,000 for repeat offenders.
The penalties for violations involving intentional damage to railway infrastructure can be as high as two years in prison and anything from 20,000 to 500,000 Saudi Riyals.
Repeat offenders can face fines of up to SR 10 million for specific offenses, including cutting or stealing railway cables, damaging infrastructure, or compromising public safety. Join Saudi Expatriates news channel on facebook
