Advertisements targeting specific individuals on social media must be associated with a "trusted" license from the General Authority for Media Regulation, according to the circular.
It is worth noting that the purpose of this directive is to control the media market in the Kingdom according to the authorized laws and to make sure that businesses follow the proper legal processes for controlling commercial ads.
For residents and international investors looking to go into advertising and public relations in the Kingdom, the General Authority for Media Regulation has laid out the new requirements for a dependable license. See Also: Saudi Arabia to introduce VAT refund program for Kingdom tourists
The following are some of the essential requirements for a trusted license, as stated by the authority:
Acquiring a license is necessary for advertising agencies, marketing departments, and public relations firms that work with visual and audible media.
According to the data recorded with the appropriate government agencies, the foreign investor's ownership stake in the firm must not be less than 50%, and he must have a commercial register.
The authority set these requirements within the context of media market regulation, transparency, and compliance with local laws as part of ongoing efforts to attract international investment and strengthen the national economy. Join Saudi Expatriates channel on Facebook
