Saudi Arabia introduces personal vehicle import self-service platform
A new service has been introduced by Saudi Arabia's Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA), which allows individual importers to independently process the import of personal vehicles through its land and sea customs ports. Upon payment of the usual customs fees, Saudi nationals are allowed to import a maximum of two vehicles each year. While permanent expat residents can bring in one vehicle every three years, they can't sell it until the third year finishes.
The change is made to improve service efficiency and simplify customs procedures. People will be able to complete the necessary steps directly on the authority's website.
People are required to register on the website (zatca.gov.sa) before anything else, according to a statement from the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA). Users can access the "Vehicle Import Service" after they have registered. See Also: Ticket prices of Riyadh Metro
They can then establish a new request by entering the details of the vehicle, sending in the customs declaration, and uploading any other required papers. The service is voluntary, as the authority made clear, giving users the choice to choose whether or not to use it.
In order to help individuals, ZATCA has prepared a comprehensive user guide on its website. The guide outlines the process for submitting requests to import personal vehicles and provides full information on the service.
Individuals of all categories can find specific import regulations on the appropriate webpage, which those with an interest can also refer to. Follow Saudi Expatriates on LinkedIn
