Tourism workers in Saudi Arabia exceeds 959,000 in 2nd quarter of 2024

The latest data reveals a 5.1 percent increase in comparison to the corresponding quarter of the year 2023, as reported in a bulletin released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) on Wednesday.
The GASTAT report indicated that the male workforce engaged in tourism activities numbered 831,076, reflecting a participation rate of 86.6 percent of the total.

The proportion of private sector workers engaged in tourism activities was 8.6%, which represents a 0.5% drop from the second quarter of the year 2023.
The analysis indicated that the hotel room occupancy rate attained roughly 55.4 percent in the second quarter of the year 2024, reflecting a 0.5 percent rise in comparison to the second quarter of the year 2023. During the second quarter of the year 2024, the room occupancy rate in serviced apartments and various hospitality establishments attained 52.4 percent, reflecting a 1.5 percent rise in comparison to the corresponding quarter of the year 2023.

The typical duration of a guest's stay in serviced apartments and various hospitality establishments was around 2.1 nights in the same quarter, reflecting a decline of 10.9 percent in comparison to the second quarter of 2023.
