Tobacco products and related substances must meet standards approved by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, and stores cannot have or display goods of unknown origin or contain misleading information, according to regulations set by the Saudi Ministry of Municipalities and Housing.
The sale of cigarettes in sealed packages is another requirement, as is the prohibition of selling tobacco or related products by the piece, price reduction, or free samples or gifts as part of promotional offers.
It is also against the law to import, sell, or provide anything that advertises tobacco or any of its components.
It is also illegal to sell or display tobacco goods in vending machines if they contain raw or processed tobacco or any of its derivatives. Most Viewed: Saudi Arabia to launch Google Pay soon
Furthermore, tobacco stores must post a consumer warning sign that follows the formats authorized by the National Committee for Combating Tobacco.
A graphic showing the dangers of smoking should accompany the warning wording that states tobacco use significantly increases the risk of malignancies of the mouth, lungs, and heart.
Furthermore, it is mandatory for the establishment to include a sign prohibiting the sale of tobacco goods to anyone under the age of 18. See Also: Saudi Arabia enforces vaccines for Umrah pilgrims
