Those who plan to perform Umrah during the holy month of Ramadan are required to receive the meningitis vaccine, according to the Ministry of Health (MOH) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Trending Video: KSA restricts multiple entry visas for these countries

This is part of a larger initiative to decrease the rate of infectious diseases and increase awareness of the importance of preventative health measures.

It is important to get the vaccine at least 10 days before you go on your Umrah trip, according to the Ministry of Health.

Those who got the vaccine within the last 5 years are not required to receive it again, though, because it keeps working even after that long.

In order to avoid suffering meningitis, the ministry highlighted the need to avoid respiratory droplets produced by coughing and sneezing. Recommend: Saudi Supreme Court calls for Ramadan moon sighting on Friday evening

Ministry officials stressed the importance of taking precautions to avoid illness and injury while doing Umrah and encouraged people to schedule vaccine appointments through the "Sehhaty" app at adult vaccination clinics.

The Ministry of Health is continuously working to boost health awareness and safeguard pilgrims' well-being through initiatives like this directive.

These efforts help build an integrated health system that improves people's lives and the quality of health care they get. Follow Saudi Expatriates channel on imo messenger
