Saudi Arabia arrests 22,663 violators of Residency, Labor and Security laws


A total of 22,663 individuals were captured by combined field campaigns within one week for violations of laws associated with residency, employment, and border security, according to the Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia. Join Saudi Expatriates channel on Telegram



During the period from 6th February 2025 to 12th February 2025, the Ministry of Interior carried out campaigns throughout the Kingdom to monitor and arrest those who violated regulations regarding residency, work, and border security. The results of these campaigns are as follows:

The combined security field operations throughout the Kingdom uncovered a total of 22,663 infractions, including 13,799 related to the residence law, 5,594 to the border security law, and 3,270 to the labor law.

Among the 21,133 individuals arrested while attempting to enter the Kingdom, 36 percent were Yemenis, 63 percent were Ethiopians, and 1 percent belonged to other nationalities. There were also 184 individuals taken into custody for attempting an unauthorized border crossing out of the Kingdom.

14,000 people were caught for their roles in transporting, housing, hiring, and hiding individuals who violated restrictions regarding residence, labor, and border security. Recommend: 18 Million people used Riyadh Metro since its inauguration

At present, there are a total of 38,777 regulation-violating expatriates, consisting of 34,708 males and 4,069 females.

In order to get travel documents, 29,510 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions. Another 3,678 were directed to finish their travel plans. Finally, 10,822 were deported.

The Ministry of Interior has announced that individuals who assist and encourage border security violators, whether by transporting them within the Kingdom, providing shelter, or offering any form of assistance or service, face defamation, a fine of up to one million riyals, and possible penalties of up to fifteen years in prison.

The ministry went on to say that this is a serious offense that warrants an arrest and that it betrays a lack of respect for authority. The authority urged anyone to call 911 in the Eastern Province, Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and Riyadh, or for any other region of the Kingdom, to report any such incidents to the following numbers: 999 or 996.
