The deadline for the 50% discount on total traffic violation fees is quickly approaching, which is April 18, 2025, according to the Saudi Traffic Department (Moroor). Most Viewed: Moroor records violations for cars parked this way, even in front of your home
Applicants were encouraged by the Traffic Department, using its official X platform account, to pay and take advantage of the discount before the deadline passed.
The deadline for reducing the total number of traffic violations has been extended by six months, from October 19, 2024 AD, to April 18, 2025 AD, as Saudi Moroor informed. This is in accordance with the orders of King Salman, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
This came in response to a citizen's inquiry: "Peace be upon you. I need to know how much time is left until the traffic violation discount expires."
This discount is available to all citizens, residents, visitors, and citizens of the nations that make up the Gulf Cooperation Council. It covers any traffic violations that are stated in the regulations. This grace period applies to violations that occurred before the date April 18, 2024. The Ministry made it clear that Article 75 of the Traffic Law would be applicable for violations occurring after this discount period. After the objection time and the legally defined payment deadline have passed, failure to pay the fine may result in imprisonment and enforcement measures, in addition to a 25% reduction for a single offense, as provided for in this article.
The 25% discount would not apply in certain situations, like when the 15-day payment period ends without requesting an extra 90 days or after 30 days of the extra 90-day payment period if one is requested.
It is important to take advantage of the deadline for settling traffic fines, as the administration highlighted while explaining the alternative of paying all violations at once or each violation separately.
The General Directorate of Traffic (Moroor) has issued a warning about dealing with uncertain connections, phone calls, and websites that claim to offer the service. Violators would not be eligible for the discount if they committed any of four specified offenses during the reduction period, as stated in the royal decree that was enforced by the Ministry of the Interior. These infractions include things like drifting, being under the influence of narcotics or prohibited substances while driving, and going more than 50 km/h over the limit on highways with a 120 km/h limit or more than 30 km/h over the limit on roads with a 140 km/h restriction.
