In preparation for the last ten days of Ramadan, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has expanded the capacity of its services.

As part of its "Ask Me" campaign, the authority has designated dedicated foot teams to field inquiries from guests at 38 locations. In addition to specialized cleaning teams that can scrub the Grand Mosque in 35 minutes, the mosque is sterilized daily with 20 rounds of more than 2 kg of aloes wood.

Along with the provision of 33,000 plush carpets and the five daily perfumings of the Black Stone, the Al-Multazam, and the Yemeni Corner, local ablution facilities have been allotted on each of the main sides of the Grand Mosque.

A total of 428 escalators and 28 elevators have been equipped with state-of-the-art audio equipment, including 1,300 electric speakers, according to the Authority.

Additionally, it has cooled the Grand Mosque using 90,000 tons of power. For the convenience of pilgrims, it offers free luggage storage, special prayer spaces for the elderly and those with disabilities, a childcare center open around the clock, carriages for men and women to do the ritual ablution, and prayer areas ready for I'tikaf in the last ten days of Ramadan. Additionally, it offers a centralized electronic platform for transportation bookings, with a range of carriages to choose from. See Also: Discount on Traffic violations fines to end soon

In order to ensure that mosques are ready for the final ten days of Ramadan, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs has issued a strong call to mosque workers to follow the Itikaf regulations:

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call, and Guidance has urged its branches across the Kingdom to ensure mosque staff follow Ramadan 1446 AH instructions, particularly those related to Itikaf and mosque preparation in the last ten days. This is to ensure worshippers have the best nights of reassurance and calm while achieving the ministry's message and goals.

The ministry advised mosque staff, particularly imams and muezzins, to labor consistently, especially during these wonderful ten days. The authority stressed the importance of following the itikaf rules for mosques and congregational prayers. The administration said the imam must issue authorization to individuals conducting itikaf, check for violations, acquire their identification, and prepare itikaf places.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has 6,000 male and female inspectors who work 24/7 to verify employee compliance with orders and take legal action against violators. The Ministry urges citizens and residents to contact the unified call center 1933 or visit its regional branches if they notice any deficiencies in services to houses of God or any violations of Ramadan mosque organization instructions.
