Saudi Arabia arrests the violators of Residency, Labor and Border security regulations


Within a week, the Ministry of Interior reported that 23,865 individuals who violated residency, labor, and border security regulations had been arrested through joint field campaigns. Recommend: Discount on traffic violations to end soon: Saudi Moroor



The Ministry provided an explanation for the following outcomes of the campaigns to monitor and recognize violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations, which were conducted in all regions of the Kingdom from 6th March to 12th March 2025:

1. The total number of violators arrested in the joint security field campaigns in all regions of the Kingdom was 23,865. This figure includes 16,644 violators of the residency law, 3,896 violators of the border security law, and 3,325 violators of the labor law.

2. The total number of individuals caught while attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom was 1432, with Yemeni nationals representing 29%, Ethiopian nationals 67%, and other nationalities 4%. Additionally, 97 individuals were detained for attempting to cross the border outside the Kingdom in an irregular manner.

3. 13 individuals were caught for their involvement in the transportation, assisting, and employment of violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations, as well as their efforts to cover up these violations. Read: Fine for failing to deliver postal shipments in Saudi Arabia

4. A total of 39,976 violating expatriates, including 36,307 males and 3,669 women, are currently subject to system implementation procedures.

5. 2,311 violators were referred to finalize their travel reservations, 10,331 violators were deported, and 32,825 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents.

According to the Ministry of Interior, individuals who facilitate the entry of border security violators into the Kingdom, transport them within the Kingdom, provide them with shelter, or provide them with any assistance or service will be subject to penalties of up to 15 years in prison, a fine of as much as one million riyals, seizing of the means of transportation and the residence used for shelter, and public shaming.

The ministry clarified that this offense is classified as a major crime that necessitates arrest and is a breach of trust and honor. It encouraged individuals to report any violations to the following numbers: 911 in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Riyadh, and Eastern Province regions, and 999 and 996 in the remaining regions of the Kingdom.
