Saudi Public Security issues a warning for Citizens and resident expats


The Department of General Security in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has issued a fresh warning about the practices of unlicensed foreign exchange (forex) firms. Most viewed: 4 expats arrested in Tabuk in case of prostitution



The authorities also stated, via the X platform, that these groups misuse photographs of celebrities on social media platforms to add credibility to their operations and warned against being deceived by fraudulent practices on these platforms.

To safeguard themselves against cybercrimes, the public was warned by public security to be cautious of unverified emails, stay away from questionable websites, and keep all software and hardware up-to-date.

Reiterating its earlier warning, Public Security advises against engaging with questionable websites.

Warning users not to interact with fraudulent websites posing as providers of electronic services with the intent of data exploitation, the Public Security Department issued a statement via its X platform account.

Banks in Saudi Arabia have issued a warning against scammers posing as government agencies to steal customers' personal information by sending them malicious links. The fraudster will then get in touch with the confused victim and request that they install a control program on their computer. Two people arrested for posing as officials:

Public Security patrols in Riyadh arrested a Saudi citizen and an expat woman for illegal impersonation-related conduct in another case.

According to Public Security's statement made on the X platform, these incidents included attracting individuals, taking their money, exchanging it for fake currency, and then sending the money outside of the kingdom.

The authorities announced the seizure of their belongings, which included a knife, gold jewelry, and an unexplained amount of 60,000 riyals. A man arrested for breaking windows of a bus shelter:

The Riyadh Police's Criminal Investigation Department previously apprehended a person for destroying windows of a bus shelter.

Through the X platform, the Public Security Department announced the arrest, subsequent legal actions, and referral of the accused to the Public Prosecution.
